Mind your mind because it matters. As a professional and as a human being, I do my best to make sure that I influence others to be better and to do better. I’ve read countless books on personal development, professional development, self-awareness, and self-realization that have caused me to shift the way I think about myself and as a result, my life and my business shifted tremendously. If you are struggling with keeping a positive mindset when life comes at you or when your company isn’t doing so well, consider trying these three things:
1. Be okay with trying a new approach.
A fresh perspective is a key to change and transformation. Reading books does not work for everyone. Listening to podcasts seems to be some people’s cup of tea. And if neither of those is for you, that’s okay. There are more than a few ways to reset your mindset so you can attract the things you desire. Try meditating or journaling. You can even consider taking up a creative hobby such as writing poetry or writing music. Sometimes its necessary to change up your usual way of decompressing so that you can change your position in life.
2. Don’t try to be someone you are not by doing things you do not like to do.
One of the biggest hinderances of growth and a positive mindset is the belief that you have to do what everyone else is doing. This statement could not be further from the truth. The great gift that life gives us is that we have the power to create the experience we want by doing the things we love to do! Stop listening to people who don’t feed your soul and start connecting with those who know the power of self and self-awareness.
3. Change your circle.
Someone once said that the five people you spend the most time with are the five people you are most likely to become. Think about who is in your circle right now. Would you switch places with them? If so, keep them around. If not, put a bit of distance between you and them. During this period of your life where you are taking steps to build the life or business of your dreams, you have to surround yourself with people who support your vision. When you change your circle of influence, you change your life.
